General Comments.
(
Brief data summary
and
scan listing
)
This is an EVN line experiment at K band observed on 10 Jun 2003. The data were correlated in two passes. This pass was done in continuum mode with 16 spectral channels, 4 subbands, 2 polarizations, no cross-pols (the line pass has also been pipelined). 7 stations participated - On, Mh, Cm, Jb, Ef, Nt, Mc. Mc did not produce any fringes at K band in this session. On observed LCP only.
The EVN Reliability Indicator (ERI) for this experiment was ERI=ERI*=0.43 (On=0.88, Mh=0.7, Cm=0.5, Jb=0.88, Nt=0.74, Ef=1.0, Mc=0).

Comments.
Calibrators well detected. Metsahovi has no data on AIPS IF L4. Cm produced fringes only in subband 1. On observed LCP only (receiver limitation). Mc was not correlated - no fringes were found to Mc at K-band in this session.

Comments.
On recorded LCP in the RCP channels. The 'weak fringes' in RCP IFs are in fact cross-polarized fringes (later flagged). Amplitude in Jb IF L2 is a little lower than in other IFs.

TSYS against time
.
Comments.
No Tsys for Cambridge - an approximation is used.
Telescope sensitivities
from the a priori TSYS and Gain curves (the square of this
number gives the antenna noise (SEFD) in Jy - the smaller the better).
Comments.
On: SEFD ~ 3000 Jy is much less sensitive than expected from the EVN status sheet (bad weather?).
Jb: SEFD on RCP channels much higher than on LCP channels.
Nt: SEFD much higher than expected.
Fringe-fit phase solutions
(including Parallactic Angle correction).
Comments.
Fringe rate rather high (unsurprisingly).

Comments.
Mh: IF L4 missing (very little data for Mh in this IF)
Cm: Solutions only for IF 1.

Note that IFs R2 and R4 have been flagged after amplitude self calibration, due to having data from only 3 antennas.
On: Amplitude corrections are rather large. A Tsys scaling factor should probably be applied. Note that the corrections here are the square root of the error in the original Tsys.
Jb: amplitude corrections for IF L2 are large (see previous comment on low sensitivity in L2).
Nt: amplitude corrections large for all IFs.
Telescope sensitivities
(the total AMP gain applied during
both a priori and self calibration; the square of this number gives the antenna
noise (SEFD) in Jy).
Comments.
On: True SEFD is still higher than expected from the EVN status sheet, but amplitude calibrated value is closer to the expected value than the values given by the a priori Tsys.
Jb: Sensitivity of RCP channels lower than the LCP channels.
Nt: SEFD still much higher than expected from the EVN status sheet.
