Brief data summary
and
scan listing
)
L band (18cm) VLBI experiment, observed on 08 June 2008. The data rate was 1Gbps (8 X 16 MHz subbands, dual polarization, two-bit sampling). The target source 'J210358' was calibrated using the phase-reference source 'J2110-1020'. 'J2253+1608' ('3C454.3') was also observed as a calibrator and served as fringe finder. The solint was 1.75 minutes. Ef served as reference antenna. The plots show baselines to either Ef or Jb.
11 stations participated in the experiment: Cm, Jb1, Ef, Wb, On85, Mc, Nt, Tr, Ur, Sh, and Hh. At Cm, the signal is limited to the upper half of subband 2 (IF3) and the lower half of subband 3 (IF4) because of the bandwidth limitations of the microwave link. In addition, Cm seems to have recorded the data too fast. At Jb, the Lovell Telescope was used for these observations. Wb observed in phased-array mode. Subband 7 (IF 8) seems to be missing in the Wb data. On reported minor Mark5 problems at 03:27-03:50 UT.
The EVN reliability indicator (ERI) for this experiment was
ERI = 0.85 . ERI* = 0.85 .
(Cm=0.34, Jb=1, Ef=1, Wb=0.88, On=0.94, Mc=1 , Nt=1, Tr=1, Ur=1, Sh=1, Hh=1)
Plots of the autocorrelations
Comments.
As to be expected at 18cm, low-to-mid-level RFI at almost all stations, in particular in Mc/IF2+8, Tr/IF1+7, at some times also in On/IF3 or IF4, Ur/IF1+2 and Sh/IF2; Mc/IF1 (subband 0) and Nt/IF4L (subband 3) missing (see letter to P.I.); 220 pages
plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase
against time
Comments.
Cm: signal constrained to upper half of IF3 and lower half of IF4 because of the bandwidth limitations of the microwave link, patchy data, probably because data were recorded too fast (see letter to P.I.); Nt: IF1/R missing at 02:14 - 04:51 UT, IF2/R missing at 02:09 - 05:05 UT; 80 pages
Plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase
against frequency channel
Comments.
Cm: signal constrained to upper half of IF3 and lower half of IF4 because of the bandwidth limitations of the microwave link, some bad scans at 03:50 - 04:03 UT; Nt: in the beginning, phase jumps or fast phase rotation, ok after 00:23 UT; Mc: amplitude drops off significantly in IF2 and IF8 (subbands 1 and 7); 328 pages

TSYS against time
Comments.
Jb: some spikes of high T_sys; Wb: IF2+3 noisier than the other IFs; On: some spikes of high T_sys, mostly in lower IFs; Mc: spikes of increased T_sys in IF5+6/L at 03:00 - 06:00 UT; Nt: IF1/R missing from ~00:45 UT, IF2/R missing from ~02:00 UT; Tr : IF7 noisier than the other IFs; 18 pages
