Due to characteristics of the GW019A observations & correlation tactics, the normal standard plots weren't optimal for summarizing the experiment. We therefore made a different set of plots manually, as described below. These are in general more exhaustive that the usual standard plots, but also somewhat more complicated owing to the 3 different "portions" of correlation. For specific data-quality comments, see the (rather lengthy) GW019A cover letter. All plots discussed here were made while the data were still in aips++ Measurement Sets prior to conversion to FITS files. The station numbering is 0-based in the aips++ plots, but 1-based in the FITS data (1-based numbering used below). The names of the plot files on the archive are: gw019a.{pass}-weight.ps.gz station weight vs. time gw019a.{pass}-auto-[1,2].ps.gz station autocorrelation real vs. freq gw019a.{pass}-cross-[1,2][a,p].ps.gz baseline amp/phs vs. freq gw019a.{pass}-ampphase-[a,p].ps.gz baseline amp/phs vs. time where {pass} = "EVN", "3PASS", or "VLBA" (corresponding to the portion of the experiment). The weight and ampphase plots show the whole experiment. The auto & cross plots show all baselines for 1 minute of data taken near from scans: [1] [2] EVN scn 37 (DA193) scn 80 (DA193) 3PASS scn 94 (3C84) scn 164 (0528+134) VLBA scn 173 (DA193) scn 215 (DA193) The reference station(s) and IFs plotted for the ampphase plots are: EVN Ef-* IF 1-8 (parallel-hand pols) 3PASS Ef-* & Yy-* IF 4-5 ( " " " ) VLBA Yy-* IF 4-5 ( " " " ) Reference stations were used to keep the plot files to reasonable sizes, and only IFs 4-5 were used for plots including VLBA stations to show IFs where Yy had power, and to avoid IFs affected by the strange VLBA weights. (a) WEIGHT plots The weight plots combine the parallel-hand pols for all IFs per station, with each 1s integration plotted as a separate ".". The IF/pol color-coding is: IF1/RR = red IF1/LL = blue IF2/RR = cyan IF2/LL = green IF3/RR = pink IF3/LL = med.grey IF4/RR = brown IF4/LL = purple IF5/RR = teal IF5/LL = yellow IF6/RR = steel blue IF6/LL = lt.grey IF7/RR = black IF7/LL = orange IF8/RR = lt.green IF8/LL = lt.purple (b) AUTOCORRELATION SPECTRA plots The autocorrelation plots show 1min of data from the scans listed above. Each IF is plotted separately, and the y-axis ranges don't necessarily go down to zero. Within each IF, the parallel-hand polarizations are plotted: red=RCP, blue=LCP. The plots show the real component rather than amplitude to avoid aliasing negative values. A weight cut-offs of -0.01 was used to allow showing the higher IFs for the VLBA stations. (c) BASELINE SPECTRA plots The cross plots show amplitude and phase for all baselines for the same 1-minute intervals from the standard auto-plots. Amp(frq) and phs(frq) go into separate plots (the [a,p] character in the filename) with corresponding baseline lay-out. Here, all IFs for a baseline share the same plot, separated by the dotted vertical lines. Polarization color-coding within each IF is: red = RR blue = LL cyan = RL green = LR with the phase plots showing only the parallel-hand polarizations. (d) AMP/PHASE(t) plots The ampphase plots show amplitude & phase for Ef-* and/or Yy-* as a function of time for the whole experiment. The IF/polarization color-coding for the EVN portion is the same as for the weight plots; for the other ones it is: IF4/RR = red IF4/LL = blue IF5/RR = cyan IF5/LL = green Each 1s integration is plotted as a separate ".", with the middle 80% of the band used for vector-averaging in frequency.
