General Comments. ( Brief data summary and scan listing )
C-band NME observed on 16 February 2006 (session 1/2006). 256 Mbps, 2-bit sampling, dual polarization. There were 4*8 MHz channels in both RCP and LCP. The experiment started with 3C84 and 0234+285, then continued with phase-referencing between DA193 and J0605+4030.

The EVN reliability indicator (ERI) for this experiment was ERI = 0.94 . ERI* = 0.94 . (Ef=1.0, Wb=1.0, Jb2=0.94, On=1.0, Mc=0.94, Nt=1.0, Tr=0.88, Hh=1.0, Ur=1.0, Sh=0.93)

Medicina had some bad data around 16:30 UT.
Shanghai had some bad data around 14:40 UT.
For Hartebeesthoek the sources were below horizon for some of the time.

It was raining at some of the telescopes. Effelsberg reported high Tsys.


Telescope sensitivities from the a priori TSYS and Gain curves (the square of this number gives the antenna noise (SEFD) in Jy - the smaller the better).

Jodrell Bank was apparently a factor of two less sensitive than epected (SEFD=320 Jy, see the EVN Status Table).
Shanghai appeared to be somewhat more sensitive than listed in the EVN Status Table.

Very large corrections for Jodrell Bank (about a factor of two in Tsys).


Telescope sensitivities (the total AMP gain applied during both a priori and self calibration; the square of this number gives the antenna noise (SEFD) in Jy).

The Jodrell sensitivity after self-calibration was as expected. The apparent low sensitivity (see above) was due to bad a-priori amplitude calibration. Note that the station did update the RXG file.
Urumqi L4 (related to VC#7) was less sensitive than expected.
