UHF-band phase-referencing experiment, observed on 1 Jun 2006. Data rate was 32 Mbps (1 X 4 MHz subband, dual polarization, two-bit sampling). The target source 'J0916+3854' was calibrated using the phase-reference source '4C39.25' which was also the fringe finder.
5 stations participated. Urumqi was unable to participate in the UHF session. Onsala, Noto, Torun and Effelsberg suffered severe RFI in the band. Westerbork had some RFI at the low end of the band but Wb data were not badly affected compared with the other stations. Tr also had a problem with their BBC sideband setup which was fixed during the subsequent UHF experiment EV015. Fringes are seen between Ef and Wb but the receiver at Ef was severely overloaded by RFI and the amplitudes are highly variable. Fringes are also seen to Nt in the LCP channel, but overall this experiment has very little useful data due the severe RFI. In this case, data where no fringes were seen due to RFI have been subtracted from the ERI (but not ERI*).
The EVN reliability indicator (ERI) for this experiment was
ERI = 0.14 . ERI* = 0.6 .
(ON=0(*1), EF=1, TR=0, WB=1, NT=0.25(*1))
