General Comments. ( Brief data summary and scan listing )
EC021 is an EVN+MERLIN spectral line experiment at 5 cm, recorded at 32 Mpbs on 5-6 November 2004. There is one 2-MHz band with 1024 spectral channels, dual polarization. Participating stations were Da (replacing Jb), Ef, Nt, Cm, On, Mc, Tr, Wb.

The EVN reliability indicator (ERI) for this experiment was ERI=0.90 (Da=0.96, Ef=1, Nt=1, Cm=1, On=0.72, Mc=0.97, Tr=1, Wb=0.95). ERI gives an estimate of the ratio of observed (good) visibilities to the number of visibilities expected at scheduling time. ERI* is the ERI modified to account for data lost due to the weather (or other 'acts of God'). Here ERI*=0.97 (data lost at On due to high wind).

The data quality looks quite good overall, although flagging of some spectral channels will be required.

Plots of the autocorrelations .
Comments.
Narrow-band RFI at some stations: Tr (LCP only), Mc (RCP only). Onsala has "spike" at band centre in both pols, strongest in LCP.

Plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase against time .
Comments.

Plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase against frequency channel .
Comments.
Above features in autocorrelations at On and Tr also visible in cross spectra.

The uncalibrated amplitude and phase of the crosshand correlations against frequency channel (not available) .
Comments.

TSYS against time .
Comments.
Tsys measurements not available for Da and Cm.

Telescope sensitivities from the a priori TSYS and Gain curves (the square of this number gives the antenna noise (SEFD) in Jy - the smaller the better).
Comments.
Nominal sensitivities assumed for Da and Cm.

Fringe-fit phase solutions (including Parallactic Angle correction).
Comments.
FRING solutions look OK

Fringe-fit delay solutions .
Comments.

Fringe-fit rate solutions .
Comments.

Telescope bandpasses .
Comments.

Calibrated amplitude and phase against time (a priori amplitude calibration and fringe-fit solutions applied).
Comments.

Calibrated amplitude and phase against frequency channel .
Comments.
More channels from upper end of band may need to be flagged

Quite nice images of the phase reference sources J0102+5824 and J2339+6010 (both point-like). Also the image of 3C84 shows the bright resolved jet component ~10 mas to the south of the core.
