General Comments. ( Brief data summary and scan listing )
L band (18 cm) EVN experiment, observed on 09 June 2009. The data rate was 1024 Mbps (8 x 16 MHz subbands, dual polarization, two-bit sampling). The target sources 'NGC3941', 'NGC3982', 'NGC4138', and 'NGC4698' were calibrated using the phase-reference sources 'J1149+3559', 'J1208+5441', 'J1221+4411', and 'J1239+0730'. 4C39.25' and '3C345' were also observed as fringe finders. In this pipeline reduction, Ef served as reference antenna. The plots show baselines to either Ef or Wb.
9 EVN stations were scheduled in this experiment: Ef, Jb, On, Mc, Nt, Sh, Tr, Ur, and Wb. Ef could not observe between 19:52 and 20:42 UT because of a thunderstorm. At Jb, the MkII telescope was used for this experiment, skipping every fourth scan of a cycle. On reported rain and RFI. At Sh, all sources except for '3C345' were below the horizon after 18:22 UT. There are no data of subband 6/RCP from Sh. Ur observed as a one-bit station, except at 13:03-13:28 UT and after 22:12 UT, when the sources were beyond the elevation limits. Wb observed with 12 telescopes in phased-array mode, as soon as the sources became observable at ~12:28 UT.

The EVN reliability indicator (ERI) for this experiment was ERI = 0.96 . ERI* = 0.99 . (Ef=0.93, Jb=1, Mc=1, Nt=1, On=1, Sh=0.94, Tr=1, Ur=1, Wb=1)

Plots of the autocorrelations
Comments.
low-level RFI visible at almost all stations, in particular in subband 0; Mc: amplitude of IF1 (= subband 0) most of the time way off, may want to flag this channel (see piletter); Wb: amplitude of IF2 (= subband 1) and/or IF3 (= subband 2) at times way off; On: watch out for occasional ringing in IF3; scan #202 (3C345): no data for IF1-4 (subbands 0-3); 438 pages

plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase against time
Comments.
phases of the fringe-finders (and phase-reference sources) can be followed even in the uncalibrated data; Ef: no/bad data from 12:11 (scan #20) until change of disk pack at 13:44 UT (scan #49), out due to thunderstorm at 19:52-20:42 UT; Mc: IF1 very noisy; Ur: sources too high at 13:03-13:28 UT, sources below the horizon after 22:12 UT; Sh: sources below the horizon after 18:22 UT, IF7/L very noisy; Wb: sources below the horizon until 12:28 UT; 64 pages

Plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase against frequency channel
Comments.
phases can be followed in fringe finders and phase-reference sources; Mc: noisy phases in IF1 (= subband 0); Sh: IF7/R missing (= subband 6/RCP); Ef: bad phases in scan 55; Wb: bad phases in scan 57; scan 202: IFs 1-4 (subbands 0-3) missing; 654 pages

The uncalibrated amplitude and phase of the crosshand correlations against frequency channel
Comments.
phases of 4C39.25 and 3C345 looking good; phases can also be followed on the most sensitive baselines of some of the phase-reference sources; 370 pages

TSYS against time
Comments.
Wb: T_sys very noisy in IF2+3; Ef: T_sys data missing for ~12:30-13:45 UT (see above), out between 19:52 and 20:42 UT because of a thunderstorm; Mc: T_sys very high for IF1/R and IF2/R; 15 pages

Telescope sensitivities from the a priori TSYS and Gain curves (the square of this number gives the antenna noise (SEFD) in Jy - the smaller the better).
Comments.
curves match closely those of T_sys vs. time; 15 pages

Fringe-fit phase solutions (including Parallactic Angle correction).
Comments.
reference antenna: Ef, drift in phases reflects the parallactic angle correction; looks reasonable; 15 pages

Fringe-fit delay solutions
Comments.
reference antenna: Ef; except for Mc/IF1/R+L, Tr/IF1+2/R and Sh/IF7+8/R+L, delays of less than 20 nanoseconds, very few outliers; 15 pages

Fringe-fit rate solutions
Comments.
reference antenna: Ef; rates of the order of a few mHz; 15 pages

Telescope bandpasses
Comments.
reference antenna: Ef; in general, bandpasses look good, phases flat and close to zero; exceptions: Mc/IF2/R+L, Sh/IF7+8/R+L; 2 pages

Calibrated amplitude and phase against time (a priori amplitude calibration and fringe-fit solutions applied).
Comments.
looking ok; 64 pages

Calibrated amplitude and phase against frequency channel
Comments.
phases look ok; Wb: amplitudes of IF3 way off; Jb: low amplitudes in IF1+2; Mc: drop-off in amplitude in IF1+2+8; Sh: low amplitudes in IF7+8; 654 pages
