L-band (18cm) continuum EVN experiment, observed on 06 June 2010. The data rate was 1024 Mbps (8 x 16 MHz subband, dual polarization, two-bit sampling). The target sources '1256', '1347', '1430' were calibrated using the phase-reference sources 'J1249+2817', 'J1342+2709', 'J1443+2501'. The calibrator source '3C345' was the fringe finder. In this pipeline reduction, Wb, Ef and Mc served as reference antennas and Wb as plot reference, i.e. except for the autocorrelations, the plots show baselines to Wb.
10 EVN stations were scheduled in this experiment: Ef, Jb, Mc, Nt, On, Sh, Tr, Ur, Wb and Zc. Wb used 12 antennas in phased-array mode. Ef had to stop observing at 14:00 - 15:08 UT and at 18:20 - 19:17 UT due to thunderstorms and reported a recorder hang-up at 16:05 - 16:30 UT. More details about the observations and the data can be found in the letter to the P.I. which is also available from the archive (section "Standardplots").
The EVN reliability indicator (ERI) for this experiment was
ERI = 0.94 . ERI* = 0.99 .
(Ef=0.72, Jb=1, Mc=1, Nt=1, On=1, Sh=1, Tr=1, Ur=1, Wb=1, Zc=1)
Plots of the autocorrelations
Comments.
a few bandbasses show oscillations: Zc/IF3/RR, Zc/IF5/RR and Zc/IF7/LL, Bd/IF1/RR and Bd/IF1/LL, until ~16:00 UT also Tr/IF3/LL and Tr/IF4/LL (RFI?); Mc: IF1/RR+LL and IF8/RR+LL often missing or bad due to bandpass limitations; 353 pages
plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase
against time
Comments.
phases of the calibrator sources can be followed even in the uncalibrated data; Mc: very few data in IF1/LL, IF1/RR and IF8/RR, before 18:00 UT very few data in IF8/LL, too; 48 pages
Plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase
against frequency channel
Comments.
except for Tr/IF7+8/LL and Zc/IF7/LL (and Bd/IF1/LL), phases can be followed in the calibrator sources; amplitudes seem to be stable; 239 pages
The uncalibrated amplitude and phase of the crosshand
correlations against frequency channel
Comments.
phases can be followed in 3C345, Wb-Bd very noisy though; 147 pages
TSYS against time
Comments.
Jb: increased T_sys in IF5+6/L until ~18:00 UT, then noticable drop; outliers in Wb/IF1/R+L and several IFs of Mc, should be flagged; Ef: high T_sys recorded during thunderstorm at 18:20 - 19:17 UT; On: noisy T_sys in IF1/R and IF2/R; Zc, Bd: no measured T_sys available, set to 1; 16 pages
Telescope sensitivities
from the a priori TSYS and Gain
curves (the square of this number gives the antenna noise (SEFD) in Jy - the
smaller the better).
Comments.
curves match closely those of T_sys vs. time; 16 pages
Fringe-fit phase solutions
(including Parallactic
Angle correction).
Comments.
reference antenna: Wb, drift in phases reflects the parallactic angle correction; Tr: suspiciously fast fringe rotation in IF7/LCP (data may be bad!), IF8/LCP missing entirely; Zc: suspiciously fast fringe rotation in IF7/LCP (data may be bad!); Bd: a few brief glitches; 16 pages
Fringe-fit delay solutions
Comments.
reference antenna: Wb; delays of the order of tens of nanoseconds; a couple of outliers that should be flagged; Bd: a times very large corrections in IF1/R+L and IF7/L; 16 pages
Fringe-fit rate solutions
Comments.
reference antenna: Wb; in general, rates of the order of a few mHz; large rates in Zc/IF7/L, Bd/IF1/L, Bd/IF7/L; a few outliers in Mc and Sh; 16 pages
Telescope bandpasses
Comments.
reference antenna: Wb; in general, bandpasses look good; phases close to zero except for the edges of the bandpasses and Mc/IF2/R+L and Tr/IF7/L; 3 pages
Calibrated amplitude and phase against time
(a
priori amplitude calibration and fringe-fit solutions applied).
Comments.
phases of calibrator sources close to zero; amplitudes look reasonable except for Tr and Zc in IF7/L; 44 pages
Calibrated amplitude and phase against frequency
channel
Comments.
phases of 3C345 close to zero, except for bad IFs mentioned above; phases of the phase calibrators generally clustered around zero, too; amplitudes look reasonable except for 3C345 in Bd; 292 pages

Mc: IF1/R+L and IF8/R+L missing or with large spread, gain corrections of IF2/R+L have sometimes steep slopes; Tr: large spread or other problems in IF2/R+L and IF7/R+L, IF8/L missing; Zc: a few IFs with large correction factors; Bd: large spread and/or large corrections in most IFs; 16 pages per source
Telescope sensitivities

antenna noise (SEFD) in Jy).
