General Comments.
Two heads recording, 512 Mbit/s data rate, 64 MHz bandwidth per polarization. Effelsberg is the reference antenna. Two sources observed in phase-referencing mode (J1159+29; FIRST_051). Onsala observed only first 40 minutes due to high winds. Cambridge was scheduled but did not observed because the microwave link was damaged.
Plots of the autocorrelations.
Comments.
Bad RFI in Shanghai and Jodrell Bank.
Plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase against time.
Comments.
Target (10 mJy!) was clearly detected on Effelsberg-Westerbork-Jodrell Bank baselines.
On: only observed for 40 minutes
Wb: new phased array position seems to work well; L7 and R7 are dead due to limited number of BBCs
Ef: L8 is dead because of a dead track
Tr: IFs R5,R6 (BBC 5 upper and lower sideband)-- some data missing; IFs R7,R8 (BBC7 upper and lower sideband) - no fringes at all
Mc: L7 has some bad data (correlator problem)
Plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase against frequency
channel.
Comments.
Some RFI leaks through even crosspolarization spectrum
Ur: L4 and R4 (BBC 3 and 4 upper sideband, respectively) have low amplitude
Jb: L3 (BBC 3 lower sideband) is a bit low
Wb: L1-3 and R1-3 is low due to very high D-terms
Tr: L5-8 (BBC 5 and 7, upper and lower sideband) have large residual delay
The uncalibrated amplitude and phase of the crosshand
correlations against frequency channel.
Comments.
Wb: high D-terms, specially in the outer channels
TSYS against time.
Comments.
No Tsys for Torun.
Telescope sensitivities from the a priori TSYS and Gain
curves (the square of this number gives the antenna noise (SEFD) in Jy - the smaller the better).
Comments.
On: some high Tsys points (bad weather)
Ur: sensitivity better than expected from EVN Status Tables
Fringe-fit phase solutions.
Comments.
Phase stability looks good at all stations.
Fringe-fit delay solutions.
Comments.
Delay residuals are generally low (<30 ns).
Tr: R5-6, L5-6 (BBC 5-6, upper and lower sideband) have high residuals (50-100 ns)
Fringe-fit rate solutions.
Comments.
Telescope bandpasses.
Comments.
Tr: L5-8 (BBC 5 and 7, upper and lower sideband), and R6 (BBC 6 lower sideband) have strange bandpass
Calibrated amplitude and phase against time
(a priori amplitude calibration and fringe-fit solutions applied).
Comments.
Calibrated amplitude and phase against frequency channel.
Comments.
Ur: L4/R4 (BBC 3 and 4 upper sideband, respectively) low amplitude is not calibrated by Tsys
Jb: ampitudes vary strongly across the band
Wb: R1/L1-3 low amplitudes not calibrated
Phase corrections applied to a priori calibrated and fringe-fitted data by self-calibration.
Comments.
Amplitude corrections applied to a priori calibrated and fringe-fitted data by self-calibration.
Also available as a text file.
Comments.
Ur: very high gain in R4 and L4 (factor of 10 in Tsys); note comment above on low sensitivity
Wb: high correction (up to a factor of 4 in Tsys) in IFs 1-3 in both polarizations (see note on high D-terms above)
Tr: very high corrections in L5/L6 and R6 (factor of 10 in Tsys; BBC 5-7 had troubles, see above)
Telescope sensitivities (the total AMP gain applied during
both a priori and self calibration; the square of this number gives the antenna
noise (SEFD) in Jy).
Comments.
Mc: sensitivity in RCP channels is a little lower than expected from EVN Status Tables (SEFD=582 Jy)
Wb: IFs 1-3 in both polarization are much less sensitive than expected (see notes above)
Jb: less sensitive than expected in LCP (SEFD=44 Jy). RCP sensitivity is fine.
Ur: IFs L4 and R4 (BBC 3 and 4 upper sideband, respectively) have very low sensitivity (SEFD=1068 Jy is expected).
Residual closure phase (visibility closure phase with
model closure phase subtracted) for J1159+2914.
Comments.
Closure phases are not near zero (source model is imperfect).
Calibrated visibilities and the source model of
J1159+2914.
Comments.
Crude map of J1159+2914 from the pipeline.
