General Comments.
(
Brief data summary
and
scan listing
)
This is an EVN-only imaging experiment at 18cm (dual polarisation, 4 IFs). Participating stations were Ef, Wb (tied array), On, Mc, Nt, Jb (Lovell), Ur and Hh. Tr was scheduled, but did not observe. The reference antenna for calibration and plotting was Ef. The EVN reliability indicator was ERI=0.68 (Ef=1.00, Wb=0.94, On=1.00, Mc=1.00, Nt=1.00, Jb=1.00, Ur=0.60, Tr=0.00, Hh=1.00). ERI gives you an estimate of the ratio of observed/good visibilities to the expected number. ERI* is the same, but excludes data lost due to circumstances out of the EVN's control e.g. bad weather (ERI*=0.68).
Plots of the autocorrelations
.
Comments.
Many telescopes are affected by RFI, but particularly Mc and Hh (as mentioned in the PI letter).
No data is present in IFs 1 and 2 (RR) of Ur - flagged during post-correlator processing.
Plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase against time
.
Comments.
Ur: data appears to be dead during 3C273 scan.
Plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase against frequency
channel
.
Comments.
RFI is apparent in cross correlations.
The uncalibrated amplitude and phase of the crosshand
correlations against frequency channel
.
Comments.
None.
TSYS against time
.
Comments.
Hh: Tsys obviously affected by RFI in IF1.
Telescope sensitivities
from the a priori TSYS and Gain curves (the square of this
number gives the antenna noise (SEFD) in Jy - the smaller the better).
Comments.
All telescopes have sensitivities close to those given in the EVN Status Table. LCP of Nt though appears to have too good a sensitivity.
Fringe-fit phase solutions
(including Parallactic Angle correction).
Comments.
Hh: solutions are missing for many scans (of both phase calibrators although most fail for j1653+0226).
Fringe-fit delay solutions

None.
Fringe-fit rate solutions

Calibrated amplitude and phase against time
(a priori amplitude calibration and fringe-fit solutions applied).
Comments.
Phases of J1651+0129 are nicely grouped around 0 degrees whilst those of J1653+0226 appear to vary systematically with time (source resolution?).
Calibrated amplitude and phase against frequency channel
.
Comments.
Note that amplitudes on the Ef-Wb baseline are considerably lower than on other baselines. This was not the case before calibration!

Large and systematic solutions found for J1653+0226, but many solutions fail on Nt, Ur and Hh.

Nt: solutions in LCP are generally higher than in RCP, as expected from inspection of gain plots (above).

both a priori and self calibration; the square of this number gives the antenna
noise (SEFD) in Jy).
