General Comments.
(
Brief data summary and
scan listing.)
8 stations: Ef,Tr,Wb,Jb2,On,Mc,Ur. Used 8 x 8 MHz IFs in LCP with 1-bit sampling. Cm was scheduled but did not participate due to a problem with the microwave link. Nt also scheduled but absent from this session. Ef is the reference antenna.
Plots of the autocorrelations.
Comments.
Jb: Occasional Interference in IF L7 (~1688 MHz).
On: Occasional Interference in IF L1 (~1636 MHz).
Mc: Some Interference in IF L3 (~1654 MHz) and severe interference in L6 (~1676 MHz).
Sh: Some interference in IF L1 (~1636 MHz) and L6 (~1676 MHz).
Plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase against time.
Comments.
On: many scans lost because of high winds.
Sh, Ur: several scans show non-detections, perhaps due to source structure.
Tr: IF L7 is dead.
Plots of the uncalibrated amplitude and phase against frequency
channel.
Comments.
Little evidence for interference in the cross-correlations.
Tr: IF L7 is dead.
Wb: Amplitudes higher in central part of the observing band. IFs L1 and L2 have particularly low amplitude. This is probably due to a problem with the linear to circular polarization converter at the station.
Ur: Very low amplitude in IFs L5 to L8. Data in these IFs is unusable.
Mc: Amplitudes in IFs L6-L8 are a little lower than other IFs.
Sh: Passbands have peculiar shape, especially IF L7.
The uncalibrated amplitude and phase of the crosshand
correlations against frequency channel.
Comments.
No crosspols.
TSYS against time.
Comments.
Tr: no Tsys. Approximation based on nominal SEFD of telescope used.
On: High Tsys corresponds to telescope being stowed.
Telescope sensitivities from the a priori TSYS and Gain
curves (the square of this number gives the antenna noise (SEFD) in Jy - the smaller the better).
Comments.
Ur: GAIN is a little lower than expected from the EVN status table (nominal SEFD=1068 Jy). Note that the data in IFs L5-L8 is unusable.
Sh: GAIN in IFs L3-L8 is much lower than expected from the EVN status table. IFs L1 and L2 are close to expected value.
Fringe-fit phase solutions.
Comments.
Fringe-fit delay solutions.
Comments.
Fringe-fit rate solutions.
Comments.
Telescope bandpasses.
Comments.
Sh: bandpasses have peculiar shapes, especially IF L7.
Calibrated amplitude and phase against time
(a priori amplitude calibration and fringe-fit solutions applied).
Comments.
Ur: no valid data on IFs L5-L8.
Tr: no valid data on IF L7.
Calibrated amplitude and phase against frequency channel.
Comments.
Wb: The low amplitudes in IFs away from the band centre has not been calibrated by the Tsys (IFs L1 and L2 particularly affected).
Jb: Amplitudes in IF L1 systematically higher than in the other IFs.
Sh: Amplitudes in IFs L3-L8 too low.
Ur: IFs L5-L8 unusable.
Phase corrections applied to a priori calibrated and fringe-fitted data by self-calibration.
Comments.
Amplitude corrections applied to a priori calibrated and fringe-fitted data by self-calibration.
Also available as a text file.
Comments.
Ur: IF L1, L2 corrections are occasionally large (source at low elevation?). No data in IFs L5-L8.
Wb: Corrections on IFs L1 and L2 are large (see comment above about low amplitudes at edge of band). Sh: Corrections on IFs L3-L8 are large.
Telescope sensitivities (the total AMP gain applied during
both a priori and self calibration; the square of this number gives the antenna
noise (SEFD) in Jy).
Comments.
Wb: Sensitivity on IFs L1 and L2 much less than expected.

Comments.
3C286: extension is in the expected direction and jet has similar length to that seen in published observations.
0840+424: extension is in the expected direction, but secondary peak may be due to amplitude errors.
