(
Brief data summary
and
scan listing
)
This is an EVN phase-referencing continuum experiment at 6cm, observed on 2 November 2003. The data consist of 2 IFs, with 16 spectral channels in each band, dual polarization, no cross-pols. 10 stations were scheduled: On, Wb, Mc, Ef, Jb, Tr, Nt, Ur, Sh, Hh. However, Tr wasn't able to participate because of a recorder casualty, and Jb failed in the 6cm November session due to a fault in a LO synthesiser, leaving 8 stations to be correlated.
The EVN Reliability Indicator (ERI) for this experiment was ERI=0.55 (Mc=Nt=Sh=Hh=1, Wb=0.98, Ur=0.93, On=Ef=0.83, Jb=Tr=0). ERI gives you an estimate of the ratio of observed/good visibilities to the expected number of visibilities. ERI* is the same but excludes data lost due to e.g. bad weather. For this experiment ERI*=0.6 (On and Ef lost some time due to high wind).

Comments.
Note that Mc was chosen as the reference antenna for plot display, as it was on source for the whole experiment. (Ef was selected as preferred reference antenna for FRING etc.)
Ur and Sh recorded LCP only. (Ur recorded LCP in all channels so cross-correlations labelled 'RR' are actually cross-pols.) Calibrated data involving Ur and Sh will be flagged appropriately since there is no Tsys information for RCP.
Wb stop early (22:53) as remaining scans are outside HA limits; Sh start late (15:30) as previous scans are outside elevation limits.

Comments.
On: Tsys increase in Rpol (both IFs) ~UT 23:00 (station reported problem). On stopped observing at UT 00:06 due to high wind.
Telescope sensitivities
from the a priori TSYS and Gain curves (the square of this
number gives the antenna noise (SEFD) in Jy - the smaller the better).
Comments.
Ur used uncooled receiver, resulting in much lower sensitivy than expected from the EVN status sheet. (SEFD is increased by a factor ~20). System noise for On, Wb and Hh is slightly higher than expected from the tabulated values. Other antennas performed as expected.

Telescope sensitivities
(the total AMP gain applied during
both a priori and self calibration; the square of this number gives the antenna
noise (SEFD) in Jy).
Comments.
Some spurious high gain values, particularly for Hh, Ur IF 1 - editing of bad data is probably needed.
